Lokart ("we", "us", "our") operates the Lokart mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. By using Lokart, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Personal Information

  • Phone number (required for account creation and authentication)
  • Full name (provided during onboarding)
  • Email address (optional, not collected by default)
  • Delivery addresses (door number, street, village, city, state, postal code)
  • Profile pictures (optional)

2.2 Location Data

  • Precise GPS location (to show nearby shops, calculate delivery distances, and enable ride/logistics services)
  • Saved delivery addresses with coordinates
  • For delivery partners: real-time location during active deliveries

2.3 Transaction Data

  • Order history (items, amounts, statuses, timestamps)
  • Wallet balance and transaction history
  • Payment method preferences

2.4 Device Information

  • Device platform (Android/iOS)
  • Push notification token (for order updates and delivery alerts)
  • Device name (user agent string, truncated)

2.5 Business Verification Data (Merchants & Delivery Partners)

  • GSTIN (for merchants)
  • FSSAI certificate (for food merchants)
  • Business license documents
  • Driving license number and image (for delivery partners)
  • Vehicle registration details and image
  • Vehicle type and vehicle number (for delivery partners)
  • Profile photo (for delivery partner verification)

2.6 User-Generated Content

  • Ratings and reviews for products and delivery partners
  • Support ticket messages and chat history
  • Parcel photos (for logistics services)
  • Dispute descriptions and evidence

2.7 Logistics & Ride Data

  • Pickup and drop-off coordinates
  • Recipient name and phone number (when ordering for others)
  • Parcel description and weight category
  • Ride/delivery route and distance

2.8 Activity & Logs

  • Activity logs (actions taken within the app for operational purposes)
  • Order cancellation reasons
  • Wallet transaction logs (top-ups, deductions, settlements)

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account
  • To process and fulfill orders and delivery requests
  • To enable real-time delivery tracking
  • To show shops, products, and services near your location
  • To calculate delivery distances and pricing
  • To send order updates, delivery alerts, and promotional notifications
  • To manage wallet balances and cash settlements
  • To verify merchant and delivery partner identities
  • To resolve disputes and provide customer support
  • To improve our services and user experience

4. Information Sharing

We share your information with the following parties:

  • Delivery partners: Your name, delivery address, and phone number are shared with assigned delivery partners to fulfill orders
  • Merchants: Your name and order details are shared with merchants to prepare your orders
  • Service providers: We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) for data storage and authentication, Google Maps Platform for location and mapping services (subject to Google's Privacy Policy), and Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications. These providers may collect usage data through their SDKs as described in their respective privacy policies
  • Franchise administrators: Regional administrators can view order and user data within their franchise territory for operations management

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on AWS servers with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Authentication is managed through AWS Cognito with secure token-based sessions. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Order history and transaction records may be retained for up to 3 years for business and legal compliance purposes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 8).

7. Your Rights

  • Access: You can view your personal data in the Account section of the App
  • Correction: You can update your name and phone number in your profile
  • Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data from the Account page
  • Portability: You can request a copy of your data by contacting us
  • Withdraw consent: You can revoke location or notification permissions through your device settings

8. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the Account page in the App. When you delete your account:

  • Your personal profile, addresses, and device tokens are permanently deleted
  • Your reviews and ratings are anonymized
  • Order history is retained in anonymized form for business records
  • Active orders must be completed or cancelled before deletion

9. Children's Privacy

Lokart is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

10. Permissions

  • Location: Used to show nearby shops, calculate delivery distances, enable ride-hailing, and track active deliveries. You can revoke this permission in device settings.
  • Push Notifications: Used to send real-time order updates, delivery status changes, and promotional offers. You can disable notifications in device settings.
  • Camera/Photos: Used for uploading profile pictures, parcel photos, and business verification documents. Access is requested only when you initiate an upload.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
